This Privacy Policy explains how Spring Institute of FinTech, also referred to as SIF, collects, uses, discloses, stores, transfers and protects personal data.

SIF is operated by FinTech Training Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore.

This Privacy Policy applies to our websites, applications, learning management system, course portals, student accounts, digital student ID systems, online courses, webinars, workshops, assessments, certifications, scholarship programmes, payment verification processes, community channels, digital credentials and related products and services.

By accessing or using SIF services, creating an account, enrolling in a course, making a payment, redeeming a coupon, participating in a programme, submitting information or interacting with SIF, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

“SIF”, “we”, “us” or “our” means FinTech Training Pte. Ltd., operating as Spring Institute of FinTech, together with its authorised representatives, service providers, instructors, contractors and platform operators, where applicable.

“Platform” means all SIF websites, applications, learning management systems, course portals, student dashboards, digital student ID systems, assessment systems, certification systems, community channels and related digital services.

“Student”, “you” or “your” means any person who accesses or uses SIF services, including students, learners, visitors, scholarship applicants, coupon recipients, webinar participants, account holders, community members, instructors and contributors.

“Personal data” means data about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and other information to which SIF has or is likely to have access.

2. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to personal data collected through or in connection with:

a. the SIF website;

b. the SIF learning management system;

c. student account registration;

d. course enrolment;

e. payment verification;

f. scholarship, coupon and promotional access;

g. assessments and academic records;

This Privacy Policy should be read together with SIF’s Website Terms of Use, Student Terms and Conditions, Cookie Policy, course-specific terms, scholarship rules and any other policy or notice issued by SIF.

Third-party services, including Spring Development Bank, NUGPay, Stripe, card issuers, digital wallet providers, blockchain networks, social login providers, app stores, hosting providers, analytics providers and communication platforms, may have their own privacy policies. SIF is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties unless expressly stated.

3. Personal data we collect

SIF may collect the following categories of personal data, depending on how you interact with us.

3.1 Account and registration information

This may include:

a. full name;

b. email address;

c. username;

d. password or authentication details;

e. social login identifier;

f. country or region;

g. contact details;

h. student profile information;

i. account settings; and

3.2 Student identity and verification information

To support platform integrity, payment verification and certificate issuance, SIF may collect:

a. digital student ID information;

c. partial know-your-customer information;

d. identity confirmation information;

e. verification status;

f. audit logs;

g. account activity records; and

h. information needed to investigate suspicious activity, fraud, impersonation or academic misconduct.

SIF does not intentionally collect more identity information than is reasonably required for the relevant purpose.

3.3 Course and learning information

This may include:

a. courses enrolled in;

b. course progress;

c. module completion;

d. webinar attendance;

e. learning activity;

f. quiz scores;

g. assessment submissions;

h. assignment feedback;

i. participation records;

j. learning streaks;

k. achievement badges;

l. ranking information;

m. points or reward activity; and

n. certificate eligibility status.

3.4 Assessment and academic integrity information

SIF may collect information relating to:

a. assessment responses;

b. project submissions;

c. examination results;

d. plagiarism checks;

e. AI-use checks where applicable;

f. suspicious activity logs;

g. identity verification linked to assessments;

h. misconduct investigations; and

i. certificate revocation or correction records.

3.5 Payment and transaction information

Depending on the payment method used, SIF may collect:

a. payment reference numbers;

b. transaction proof;

c. payment screenshots;

d. transfer confirmations;

e. wallet transaction hashes;

f. payment status;

g. refund request information;

h. payment method type;

i. billing details where required;

j. transaction dates; and

k. communication relating to payment verification.

Where payments are processed by third-party payment providers, SIF may receive limited payment confirmation information. SIF does not intentionally store full card numbers or payment credentials unless expressly stated and required for a specific approved payment process.

3.6 Cryptocurrency and wallet information

Where SIF supports cryptocurrency, digital asset or blockchain-based services, SIF may collect:

a. wallet addresses;

b. transaction hashes;

c. blockchain network information;

d. payment confirmation data;

e. digital credential delivery information;

f. public blockchain records linked to credentials; and

g. information required for fraud prevention, security screening or transaction verification.

Public blockchain records may be visible, persistent and difficult or impossible to delete or amend.

3.7 Scholarship, coupon and promotional information

SIF may collect:

a. scholarship application details;

b. coupon images or codes;

c. event reward evidence;

d. eligibility information;

e. sponsorship information;

f. campaign participation records;

g. redemption history; and

h. fraud-prevention or audit information.

3.8 Communications and support information

This may include:

f. refund correspondence;

g. call or meeting notes;

h. feedback; and

3.9 Community and user-generated content

If you participate in SIF community spaces, forums, webinars, group chats or social channels, we may collect:

Where a session is recorded, SIF will use reasonable efforts to notify participants through the relevant session notice, platform interface or event communication.

SIF may collect technical information such as:

g. pages viewed;

3.13 Information relating to minors

Where a Student is below the age of legal capacity in their location, SIF may collect parent or guardian consent information, guardian contact details and information reasonably required to support safe participation.

3.14 Information from corporate sponsors or partners

Where a Student is enrolled through an employer, sponsor, community organisation, scholarship provider or ecosystem partner, SIF may receive information such as:

a. Student name;

b. email address;

c. sponsored course details;

d. eligibility information;

e. participation status;

f. completion status; and

g. certificate status.

4. How we collect personal data

SIF may collect personal data in the following ways.

4.1 Directly from you

For example, when you:

a. create an account;

b. enrol in a course;

c. make a payment;

d. upload payment proof;

e. apply for a scholarship;

f. redeem a coupon;

g. submit an assessment;

h. request support;

i. join a webinar;

j. complete a survey;

k. participate in community channels; or

l. contact SIF.

4.2 Automatically through the Platform

For example, when SIF records:

a. login activity;

b. course progress;

c. assessment activity;

4.3 From third parties

SIF may receive personal data from:

a. payment providers;

b. SDB or other ecosystem payment channels;

c. NUGPay;

d. Stripe or card processors;

e. digital wallet providers;

f. blockchain networks or explorers;

g. social login providers such as Google or Facebook;

h. learning management system providers;

i. instructors or facilitators;

j. scholarship sponsors;

k. event partners;

l. fraud-prevention providers;

5. Purposes for which we use personal data

SIF may collect, use and disclose personal data for the following purposes.

f. detecting plagiarism, misuse or academic misconduct;

g. correcting or revoking certificates where necessary; and

h. verifying credentials for third parties where authorised or reasonably necessary.

5.4 Payment, refunds and financial administration

a. processing course fees;

b. verifying payment evidence;

c. confirming transactions;

d. managing refunds;

e. resolving payment disputes;

f. investigating chargebacks;

g. preventing payment fraud;

h. maintaining transaction records; and

i. communicating with payment providers.

5.5 Scholarships, coupons and rewards

a. assessing scholarship eligibility;

b. validating coupons;

c. administering sponsored access;

d. auditing promotional use;

e. preventing coupon fraud;

f. managing learning points, rewards and badges; and

g. administering community learning campaigns.

5.6 Security, fraud prevention and platform integrity

a. monitoring suspicious activity;

b. detecting unauthorised access;

c. preventing account sharing;

d. investigating fraud;

e. protecting SIF systems;

f. enforcing platform rules;

g. securing digital credentials;

h. maintaining audit logs; and

i. responding to security incidents.

5.7 Communications and support

e. sending payment verification updates;

f. sending assessment reminders;

g. sending certificate information;

5.8 Marketing and community engagement

Where permitted, SIF may use personal data to:

d. share scholarship opportunities;

e. provide educational updates;

g. invite participation in community programmes; and

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe method provided or by contacting SIF.

Service-related communications, including course access messages, payment verification notices, security alerts, refund updates and certificate notices, are not marketing communications and may continue even if you opt out of marketing.

5.9 Research, analytics and improvement

SIF may use data to:

a. understand course performance;

b. improve teaching quality;

c. improve user experience;

d. identify technical issues;

e. improve platform design;

f. conduct internal analytics;

g. develop new educational products; and

h. prepare aggregated or anonymised reports.

Where reasonably practicable, SIF will use aggregated or anonymised data for research and analytics.

5.10 Legal, compliance and operational purposes

SIF may use personal data to:

i. prevent harm to Students, SIF or the Spring ecosystem.

6. Consent and withdrawal

By voluntarily providing personal data to SIF for a stated purpose, you consent to SIF collecting, using and disclosing that personal data for that purpose and related reasonable purposes.

You may withdraw consent by contacting SIF using the details in this Privacy Policy. Your withdrawal request should clearly identify:

a. your name;

b. registered email address;

c. student ID or account identifier, if available;

d. the consent you wish to withdraw; and

e. the relevant course, account, communication or service.

SIF will process withdrawal requests within a reasonable time.

Please note that withdrawing consent may affect SIF’s ability to provide services to you. Depending on the withdrawal, SIF may be unable to maintain your account, provide course access, verify payment, process refunds, issue certificates, maintain credentials, provide support or comply with record-keeping obligations.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect uses or disclosures already made before the withdrawal is processed, or uses and disclosures permitted or required under applicable laws.

7. Disclosure of personal data

SIF may disclose personal data to the following parties where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

7.1 SIF personnel and instructors

This includes authorised employees, contractors, instructors, teaching assistants, assessors, moderators, support staff, finance staff, compliance personnel and technical administrators.

7.2 Spring ecosystem partners

Where relevant, SIF may disclose personal data to Spring ecosystem entities or partners, including SDB, for payment, verification, ecosystem access, support, fraud prevention, operational coordination or related services.

7.3 Payment and transaction providers

This may include banks, payment processors, NUGPay, Stripe, card networks, digital wallet providers, blockchain infrastructure providers and other approved payment channels.

7.4 Technology and platform service providers

This may include providers of:

a. website hosting;

b. cloud infrastructure;

c. learning management systems;

d. analytics;

e. communications;

f. email delivery;

g. customer support;

h. identity verification;

i. fraud prevention;

j. cybersecurity;

k. credential issuance; and

l. data storage.

7.5 Course partners, sponsors and corporate clients

Where a course is sponsored, provided in partnership or arranged through an organisation, SIF may disclose relevant participation information to the sponsor or partner, including registration status, attendance, progress, completion status and certificate status.

7.6 Credential verification parties

Where certificates, badges or digital credentials need to be verified, SIF may disclose limited information necessary to confirm the authenticity, status or validity of the credential.

7.7 Legal and professional advisers

SIF may disclose personal data to legal advisers, auditors, accountants, insurers, consultants and other professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

7.8 Authorities and dispute bodies

SIF may disclose personal data where required or permitted by applicable laws, lawful requests, court orders, dispute processes, regulatory enquiries, enforcement action or to protect SIF’s rights, safety, security or legitimate interests.

7.9 Business transfer recipients

If SIF undergoes a merger, restructuring, reorganisation, transfer of business, change of platform operator or similar transaction, personal data may be disclosed to the relevant successor, transferee, adviser or service provider.

8. International transfers

SIF may store, process or transfer personal data outside Singapore, including where our service providers, technology vendors, payment providers, instructors, support teams or infrastructure are located outside Singapore.

Where SIF transfers personal data outside Singapore, SIF will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transferred personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to that required under applicable Singapore data protection requirements, where required.

International transfers may occur in connection with:

a. cloud hosting;

b. learning management systems;

c. payment processing;

d. customer support;

e. analytics;

f. email delivery;

g. social login;

h. digital credential issuance;

i. blockchain infrastructure; and

j. technical operations.

9. Blockchain and public records

Some SIF certificates or credentials may be blockchain-ready, verifiable on-chain or NFT-based.

Where blockchain-based credentials are used, you acknowledge that:

a. wallet addresses may be processed;

b. credential metadata may be publicly visible;

c. blockchain records may be persistent;

d. public blockchain data may be difficult or impossible to delete;

e. blockchain networks are not controlled by SIF; and

f. third parties may be able to view or analyse public blockchain activity.

SIF will seek to minimise the personal data placed directly on public blockchain networks where reasonably practicable.

You are responsible for providing accurate wallet, identity and delivery details where required.

10. Marketing communications

SIF may send marketing communications where permitted, including newsletters, course updates, event announcements, scholarship information, promotional campaigns and educational content.

You may opt out of marketing communications by:

a. using the unsubscribe link in an email;

b. adjusting your communication preferences, where available; or

c. contacting SIF.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

SIF uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, maintain sessions, protect accounts, remember preferences, analyse platform usage, improve learning services and support marketing where permitted.

Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality, login, course access, payment flow, security features or user experience.

12. Protection of personal data

SIF will take reasonable steps to protect personal data in its possession or control against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks.

Security measures may include:

a. access controls;

b. authentication controls;

c. encryption where appropriate;

d. secure hosting;

e. password protection;

f. audit logs;

g. payment verification controls;

h. staff access restrictions;

i. monitoring for suspicious activity;

j. vulnerability management;

k. backup and recovery controls; and

l. internal policies and procedures.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your own account credentials, devices, wallets and authentication methods.

13. Retention of personal data

SIF will retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required or permitted for legal, operational, accounting, audit, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, academic or compliance purposes.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data.

For example:

a. account data may be retained while your account remains active;

b. course and certificate records may be retained to verify learning history and credentials;

c. payment records may be retained for accounting, audit and dispute purposes;

d. support records may be retained to manage complaints and service quality;

e. security logs may be retained to protect the Platform; and

f. misconduct records may be retained where necessary to protect academic and platform integrity.

When personal data is no longer required, SIF will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it, unless retention is required or permitted.

14. Accuracy of personal data

You should ensure that personal data provided to SIF is accurate, complete and up to date.

You may update certain account information through your account settings. For other corrections, you may contact SIF.

SIF may take reasonable steps to verify information before making corrections, particularly for identity, payment, certification or academic records.

15. Access and correction requests

You may request access to or correction of personal data held by SIF, subject to applicable exceptions.

A request should include:

a. your full name;

b. registered email address;

c. student ID or account identifier;

d. the personal data requested or correction required;

e. supporting information where relevant; and

f. proof of identity, if requested.

SIF may charge a reasonable administrative fee for access requests where permitted. If a fee applies, SIF will inform you before processing the request.

SIF may refuse or limit access where permitted, including where disclosure would reveal personal data about another person, compromise security, affect an investigation, breach confidentiality or be unreasonable in the circumstances.

16. Data relating to minors

SIF may provide certain courses or programmes to younger learners.

Where a Student is a minor, SIF may require consent from a parent or legal guardian before collecting, using or disclosing the minor’s personal data for certain purposes.

Parents or guardians should supervise the minor’s use of the Platform and ensure that the minor does not disclose unnecessary personal data in community spaces, assignments, chats or public forums.

SIF may restrict or remove a minor’s access where necessary to protect the minor, other Students, SIF or the Platform.

17. Student responsibilities

You are responsible for:

a. providing accurate information;

b. keeping your account credentials secure;

c. using strong passwords;

d. enabling two-factor authentication where available;

e. not sharing your account;

f. not uploading unnecessary sensitive information;

g. masking irrelevant information in payment screenshots where possible;

h. checking wallet addresses before blockchain transactions;

i. using community spaces responsibly; and

j. notifying SIF promptly of suspected account compromise.

SIF is not responsible for unauthorised access caused by your failure to secure your account, devices, wallets or credentials.

18. Third-party websites and services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, applications, social media pages, payment pages, wallet services, blockchain explorers or community channels.

Third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

SIF is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, security practices, fees, availability or conduct of third-party services.

You should review the relevant third-party privacy policy before providing personal data to any third party.

19. Data incidents

If SIF becomes aware of a data incident affecting personal data, SIF will assess and respond to the incident in accordance with applicable requirements and internal procedures.

SIF may notify affected individuals, service providers, partners or authorities where required or appropriate.

You should promptly notify SIF if you suspect:

a. unauthorised account access;

b. loss of login credentials;

c. compromise of a wallet used for SIF services;

d. misuse of your personal data;

e. suspicious payment activity; or

f. phishing or impersonation involving SIF.

20. Changes to this Privacy Policy

SIF may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, courses, Platform features, payment methods, credential systems, legal requirements, operational processes or data protection practices.

Updated versions will be published on the Platform or notified through official communication channels.

The “Last updated” date will indicate the latest version.

Your continued use of SIF services after an updated Privacy Policy is published or notified constitutes acknowledgement of the updated Privacy Policy.

21. Governing law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
